Everyone loves a freebie!
It’s pretty damn cool to get something for nothing, and why not? Especially since we spend a ton of money buying stuff throughout the year.
Meditation music, while kinda spiritual, ethical and good for the soul, is an industry too, and like all industry there’s marketing tactics involved.
This is good news because it means there are freebies to be had. We can try before we buy, with a view to investing our hard-earned money if the product meets our standards.
So, to save you trawling the Internet for meditation music freebies, I’ve put together a list of top music you can try right now, for free.
For the record, you’ll need to hand over a legitimate email address in exchange for your free download.
This is pretty standard, as the companies want to be able to contact you afterwards to see if you like the product and are interested in actually paying for their magical music.
Plus, to get your download link you need a real email address.
Right, get your mouse ready to click-on-through and fill up your iTunes/Windows Media Player library with some awesome meditation music.
Oh, and it's all laced with special frequencies to entrain your brain for better well being in one area or another.
1.Binaural Beats Meditation
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know I love these guys.
They produce a diverse range of meditation music, all with wonderful and soundscapes.
They put a lot of work into the composition of the music so it's all harmonically tuned. This means it's great to listen to not just for the brainwave entrainment (in headphones) but as meditation and background music.
I often put on the tracks when I'm tidying up, writing, chilling, whatever.
They generously give away a 10-minute version of the ultra-relaxing Chill Pill track, along with a super binaural beats guidebook that will teach you more about this music and how to get the most from your tracks.
All you have to do is fill out your email address.
Ennora are veterans in the binaural beats (frequencies that entrain your brain for positive states) music game and have been about for over 10 years.
The only shame is that their catalogue is quite small. But their music is powerful!
In exchange for your email address, you can get a 10-minute version of Recharge & Refresh, which is a super-energizing track that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and ready to go!
3. iAwake Technologies
iAwake is another top recommendation. It's an acquired taste sometimes and I don't dig all the sound compositions, but I tell you something for nothing – the brain entrainment is potent.
Their Profound 3.0 meditation program has been a huge hit, and I’ve experimented with their Neuro-Flow and mini meditations too and its all “top banana”, as we say in the UK.
I have an in-depth iAwake review here.
The good news is you can experience innovative psychoacoustics for enhanced mindfulness, de-stressing and getting in the flow – FREE.
Yep, they offer 3 freebies! Can't be bad, can it?
4.Brainsync – Conscious Evolution
Kelly Howell is awesome. Period.
I am someone who does struggle with guided meditations because I am picky over the voice. If the voiceover doesn't sit well with me I just can't get in the zone.
But I love her voice, and use her meditations when I need some guided inspiration.
There’s a Brainsync meditation for just about every area of your life, and you can grab 4 free tracks in exchange for your email.
Yep. Seriously. There is a catch though. You will receive the 4 over the course of 4 weeks, so one a week.
Still, it’s free!
I reviewed the Brainsync store on this page here, but come back and read that after you grab your downloads.
When you get to the home page, click on the ‘free guided meditation' link at the top of the page.
5. Omharmonics by Mindvalley
Omharmonics is by MindValley, a company that produces a bunch of self-development tools, and sends out emails way too often!
That said, I like Omharmonics for what it is – kinda light, fluffy, easy listening stuff to work along too.
The music is pretty good but it’s expensive in my opinion. The digital download package is $149.
Okay, you get a couple of videos thrown in, but considering that BBM and Ennora will give you triple the value for that, it seems like they push their luck here just based on being a big company.
They do have 100 odd employees to pay though!
I reviewed Omharmonics in greater detail here, but get a coffee for that as it's quite long 🙂
Anyway. The good news is that you can get a cool, free 15-minute mp3 called ‘The Balance’, which is level 1 in the program.
It’s a really pleasant listen and works a treat for centering your mind. I listened a few times while writing this post and my fingers are flying across the keyboard.
6. Unexplainable Store
Unexplainable Store can be a tad “woo woo”; a bit mystical and far out.
They have downloads for everything from thyroid function to simple meditation practice. They also have a bunch of healing music.
The store also does isochronic tones, which don’t require headphones like binaural beats do. I have a post on the differences between the two that you can read here.
My full review of what's on offer at this store can be found here.
Anyway, Unexplainable Store offers a full length isochronic video and download absolutely free. All you have to do is subscribe to the newsletter and they'll send you the goodies.
So there you have it, that's 11 super-awesome free meditation music downloads, free!
You can start a great small library with a mix of brainwave, guided and standard meditation music here. And best of all, you can get a feel for which stores you like and would like to buy from in the future.
I hope you enjoy this free music resource. If you do, share it with a friend on Facebook, Twitter, email or wherever you do your social media stuff.
